Pleasant Creek School
Adult Education is for any person that has not received a high school diploma or equivalent degree/certificate. Adult Education is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week during the normal school calendar year.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
September through May
Registration
Registration must be done in-person at Pleasant Creek School during the hours of operation. Anyone interested in registering with the program will need to complete the following within the first two weeks of registration:
Failure to finish all four steps will result in students being dropped from the program, and registration will need to begin once again.
At the day of registering please bring a photo ID (drivers license preferred). A folder with your intake form, ID, and progress will be kept at the school under lock and key.
Courses
Due to the low numbers of enrollment, students do not receive in-person instruction for each class. Instead, Adult Education courses are completed online through Edgenuity. Students are allowed to work on the courses 24/7 at their own convenience whether that be at home or at Pleasant Creek School. Teachers are available at the school during normal operating hours to help with questions or concerns regarding courses online. The North Sanpete Adult Education program does not offer physical packet work. If you are interested in packets and not online courses, the South Sanpete Adult Education program provides packet work for each class.
Technology
Adult Education students are required to have their own personal computer or tablet to complete the courses at home. We do not provide any computers, laptops, or tablets to students.
Nevertheless, anyone that is lacking the necessary technology is invited to come to Pleasant Creek School on Tuesdays and Thursdays to use our computer lab to complete courses. A teacher and secretary are present to help with any questions or concerns.
Course Completion
Once a course is completed online, we will exit the course from your account and issue the credit using the Adult Education system, UTOPIA. Once all courses toward a GED or High School Diploma have been completed, a final completion report with all the course grades and progress, will be printed and saved in a physical file for future record requests.
Expectations
The State of Utah requires students enrolled in any Adult Education program to work on courses consistently throughout the year. If a student does not complete any work for 90 days, he/she will be dropped from the program and will be required to complete the intake process once again. Work hours are recorded in Edgenuity each time a student logs in, and those hours are transferred to UTOPIA every two weeks as a way to report data to USBE.
Since the 2021-2022 school year, the State of Utah requires students to complete in-person coursework to be completed for 12 hours before being allowed to work from home.
