Enrollment Process
Steps to Enroll
Pleasant Creek School (PCS) is not an open enrollment institution, and takes in students based on a referral process. All prospective students grades 7-12 need to follow these steps in order to be considered for enrollment:
1 - Speak with your prospective counselor at your boundary school (NSSD students only)
2 - Fill out the enrollment form (link below) and select a time to meet with the PCS administration and program director.
3 - Meet with administration to determine if PCS is the best place for you, discussing policies and expectations.
4 - Determine which program would best fit the student, and select a start date.
5 - PCS will send a records request to the boundary school (NSHS or NSMS)
6 - An education plan will be created by PCS for the student based on individual needs and goals.
Students living outside of the NSSD boundaries are required to complete a schools choice application (home page) before completing the enrollment form. Any enrollment form submitted without the application will be denied. School choice applications do not guarantee enrollment, just consideration. NSSD is legally able to deny enrollment for students outside of their boundaries depending on available seats and other factors that can limit a student's education.
Services
PCS offers both in-person and online programs depending on each individual need. Space is limited, so the greatest need is given to those that are closer to graduation deadlines and credit recovery.
Dual enrollment between PCS and boundary schools within NSSD is an option, but is completely decided by each LEA as a final decision. Dual enrollment is not guaranteed for any student, but will be considered for all requests. PCS does not dual enroll students with programs outside of the NSSD jurisdiction.
During the enrollment request, you will be asked to request the program you wish to enroll. This does not finalize the decision, and it can be changed when meeting with administration.
